Was Hector a real person? Did he really exist? Evidence for his existence is almost…inexistent.
None of the Homeric heroes can be found in historical sources. Quasi-evidence is the names of Trojan heroes in the Linear B tablets, a script that was used for writing Mycenaean, an early form of Greek.
The scripts refer to the names of some warrior that also appear in Homers’ works, including Hector.
